Power preserve with superfood

Some fruits, vegetables, seafood, oats, seeds etc. is so good for you that they are known as “superfoods”. They are essential and good nutrients which we need to stay healthy and fit. They are super in many ways – and they are often really tasty too – just think of strawberries, lemons, oats and salmon.

We love oatmeal porridge in the morning with either fresh fruit or seeds but it can also be really yummy with a scrumptious preserve. So how about a superfood preserve with strawberries, pomegranate, goji berries, blueberries, chia seeds and hemp seeds and of course a touch of super sugar and lemon juice to bind it all together? Do you think your taste buds are ready for this? Then get started at making this potion for one jar and you can have it on your morning porridge by tomorrow morning and for about a week …or maybe you will find it so yummy that you eat it really quickly with something else like ice cream which is also healthy for keeping a balance in your life.

Superfood preserve
20 grams of goji berries
150 grams of strawberries
75 grams of blueberries
1 pomegranate (150 grams)
2 tablespoons of chia seeds
1 tablespoon of hemp seeds
Juice of half a lemon
125 grams of sugar

Soak the goji berries in some water or apple juice for about an hour. Meanwhile you prepare the pomegranate and mix it with the rest of the berries, lemon juice and sugar in a pan. When the goji berries are ready you pour them in the pan too. Turn on the heat and let it boil for about 5 minutes, then you pour in the seeds and boil it for about 5 minutes more.  It is ready when it still is a bit wet – should not be like jam but more like compote. Pour the super duper preserve in a sterilized jar and enjoy!
